Montreal and Quebec City — Dec 1–7, 2027

Tour Overview
"Join us as we visit Christmas Markets in the heart of Canada's French heritage areas where blending of French, indigenous and North American influences all come together. This is a LEVEL 1 Tour (Light & Leisurely)."
What You'll Experience
In Quebec join a local guide for a historic tour. Following your tour, there will be time to explore on your own this UNESCO picturesque Old Town filled with 17th century buildings flowing with the magic of the holiday season. Here's where you will see the many wooden stalls filled with treasures of Quebec City's German Christmas Markets.
In Montreal a local guide will take you to several historical places including a ride up to the top of Mount Royal (Montreal's namesake) to take in spectacular views followed by a walk down into its 'underground city' a haven full of shops and eateries. Later in the day there will be time to meander and shop Montreal's Christmas Markets.
In a private workshop, you will create a traditional holiday cake Buche de Noel: a festive French Christmas dessert shaped and decorated to look like a real log of wood, a culinary take on the ancient practice of burning a log at Christmastime. At the end of the class, you can enjoy the delicious cake you helped make.
In the heart of the Quebec countryside you will begin the day with breakfast at a local sugar shack. Learn about maple sugar syrup making while enjoying samples of traditional foods and some maple taffy on the snow.
When not shopping the markets, you will have the choice to craft your own copper Christmas ornament OR enjoy a tour of the spectacularly decorated historic Hotel Chateau Frontenac. Built in 1893 it is recognized as the most photographed hotel in the world.
